PBTCrastin聚對苯二甲酸丁二醇酯，屬于聚酯系列，是由1.4-丁二醇1.4-Butylene glycol與對苯二甲酸PTA或者對苯二甲酸酯DMT聚縮合而成，并經由混煉程序制成的乳白色半透明到不透明、結晶型熱塑性聚酯樹脂。與PET一起統稱為熱塑性聚酯，或飽和聚酯。

PBT又可稱為熱塑性聚酯塑料，為適用于不同加工業者使用，一般多少會加入添加劑，或與其它塑料摻混，隨著添加物比例不同，可制造不同規格的產品。由于PBT具有耐熱性、耐候性、耐藥品性、電氣特性佳、吸水性小、光澤良好，廣泛應用于電子電器、汽車零件、機械、家用品等，而PBT產品又與PPS、PC、POM、PA等共稱為五大泛用工程塑料。PBT結晶速度快，最適宜加工方法為注塑，其他方法還有擠出、吹塑、涂覆和各種方面，如二次加工成型，成型前需預干燥，水分含量要降至0.02%。
