砂輪在初步的制作過程中其尺寸、形狀與各表面相互位置精均達不到技術(shù)要求，必須經(jīng)過車削、研搓與磨削。使用砂輪的部門也不要因為急需而使用不符精度要求的砂輪。由于砂輪通常在高速下工作，因而使用前應(yīng)進行回轉(zhuǎn)試驗（保證砂輪在最高工作轉(zhuǎn)速下，不會破裂）和靜平衡試驗（防止工作時引起機床振動）。砂輪在工作一段時間后，應(yīng)進行修整以恢復(fù)磨削性能和正確的幾何形狀。
